Posted in Uncategorized on March 26, 2009 by Chainsaw

Please remember to take the time to film this spring and summer. We are still looking for under 7 minute short films for our friday evening 1×1 Film Fest. The films can be anything one speed bike, but we really want to get some bad ass 1×1 mtb shred shorts. Do they exist? We are making one, so should you. Films can be sent to sswc09 1×1, 3169 w 3rd ave, Durango, CO. 81301. Contact chad@durangodevo.com if you have questions or comments.

The Tour of Durango

Posted in Sweet Events on March 19, 2009 by Chainsaw

Hello friends. We are stoked to present to you our sunday action for the SSWC09 weekend. Sunday September 20th is the Tour of Durango, a non competitive 360 degree tour of Durangos’ town trails. There are three different routs to choose from and they all end at a closed street downtown party around 3pm. Booya. This will be a good event to do after saturdays face peeling race. The TOD also offers a running version on the same day if you want to run. The event is a benefit for the local non-profit Trails 2000 and is super family friendly. You can check it out here. tod-final-logo-final

It was an amazing day in the history of Colorado bike polo. Salt Lake City, Casper, Ridgeway, Crested Butte, Fort Collins, Boulder, Lyons, Carbondale and us from Durango were all there to rip the pitch up together. 14 teams of 5 took saturdays event, at Planet Bluegrass, as serious as you would expect, and stayed untill the sun went down at 645pm. Wind then sun then snow then sun the sweet sunset set the mood for the day. In the end, the Durango Malletheads took the 5-2 championship victory over Boulder Polo, with Polo Therapy of SLC, Stomparillaz of Carbondale, and The Belfry Boys of Fort Collins rounding out the top 5. It was pretty impressive how positive the vibe was all day long. People just smiling around, doing things, then smiling and laughing. The fellas at Oskar Blues finished it off sweetly with a super comfy awards/beer/bbq in their downtown Lyons party barn. The lighting was just right. Thanks to all who came and helped put on this passionate Passion Productions Event. Complete results will be right about here later.
